Witnessing and Stake Distribution
I just wanted to make a post because I've seen a lot of talk in the past and still, to this day, about how it's soooo "expensive" to run a witness or how people "can't afford it" (Yet still seem to be able to post here about the bud they bought to smoke and to power that smoke down and sell it off to clearly not invest back into where it came from. Go figure.)
$5 can host 3 witnesses on a DigitalOcean droplet. It's not expensive.
I've also seen a lot of talk about how the stake is "too concentrated" or "not distributed evenly enough."
Shut up, and grow up.
Complaining over and over again about things you cannot change, is pointless, and frankly annoying to see. Especially when it's not even accurate to begin with. What you're saying is that the very people who allow this place to even exist in the first place... have "too much" of the stake of the very thing they've created...
Would you start a business and give the majority of your profits to everyone else, only keeping a small percentage for yourself? When it's your vision? Your project? Your baby?
I'm tired of seeing people bitch about @stoner and the smoke team's stake, as well as @indica's stake. You wouldn't even be here in the first place if not for @stoner and his team, so you should be fucking grateful if anything! To see this behavior around Thanksgiving of all times, is sad to me.
Then there's the whole issue of @indica...
What the fuck is your problem? Indica paid for his stake, out of his own pockets. That's none of your fucking business. You could have done the same. It's not anyone's fault but your own that you did not and continue not to. Not only that, he bought it when it cost more. That means you can buy the amount he has now, for less than he paid for it in the first place, a lot less... He was one of the first major investors into this great community and he actively votes on other people's shit. Majorly. As I made the point in a comment I made somewhere talking about this... That's basically as if you have that stake, and are self-voting from time to time... So what the fuck is the issue? That you don't personally have access to those funds? You didn't invest the money, he did. You should be glad you're even getting votes at all, his stake could be abused to self-vote with little to no ability to stop it, or, he could flag all your shit into the dirt. Instead! @indica chooses to support valuable content creators here, has created his own site that hosts posts from this very blockchain and promotes it externally (I think. lol.) and that is more than 95% of people on here do.
If you are worried about how much stake people have, why not buy more stake yourself? It's cheap as fuck right now and you can get a ton for a little. Post quality shit, witness, and self-vote and you can grow your stake at an accelerated rate.
I still don't understand why people are bitching about these things, but please quit the bullshit. If you're so concerned about money (Even though you claim not to be.) then how about you acquisition @stoner and his team, for some of their stake, to develop something incredible for smoke? I'm sure that if you've got something created that can break the status quo and cause some positive waves throughout the community and bring more people to smoke... I don't see why they wouldn't go for it.
The same goes for @Indica. How do you know that he wouldn't be willing to chunk off some of his stake to support something pivotal for smoke? You don't. You just bitch about their stake and don't do anything to show them why they should even hand any of it to you in the first place. lol
