**H**ave you ever asked your self why you feel hungry each time you smoke a joint???
Well guess what??? You in the right place.
First let's talk about the content of Marijuana
Marijuana contains a lot of inorganic and organic compound there are over 483 compond in marijuana and over 65 cannabinol but the main and active compound is the Tetrahydrocannabinol **THC** which is the psychoactive part of marijuana..
Marijuana has a lot of side we all know namely making you stoned and high, sudden change of mind increase in appetite etc.
According to https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannabis_(drug) It is the most commonly used illegal drug in the world . The countries with the highest use among adults as of 2018 are Zambia, the United States, Canada, and Nigeria.
Marijuana may have a lot of side effect but the universal side effect we all know is increase in appetite. Which is cause by THC . Now what makes THC affect taste, smell and the hormone that makes us hungry???
According to research THC pairs with the brain’s olfactory bulb receptors – the receptors in charge of taste and smell. This was made known by a team of European scientists, led by Giovanni Marsicano, at the University of Bordeaux France.
Other research has shown that THC also pairswith receptors in the hypothalamus of the brain which possibly releases the hormone ghrelin, which is in charge of making you hungry. A reasonable amount of THC dose can deceive the brain into believing your hungry.. THC actually sends signal from the receptors down to the proopiomelanocortin (POMC) which is responsible for telling the body when it's hungry and when it's filled but according to some researchers THC does not only turn off the POMC, but actually flips its function by sending signals to body that its hungry meanwhile the body is full.
So, the body feels the same feelings of hunger, along with an enhanced sense of smell and taste. marijuana creates the perfect sensation for stimulating appetite.
I guess I need to stop here and hit on a joint.
