Calling all devs!! SmokeVoter needs a cool cannabis UI

Front End for SmokeVoter Devs needed!

An overview of main benefits provided by Smokevoter will be an semi-automatic upsmoking service that upsmokes on your behalf according to rules you set. You can control who the service smokes on, how much smoke power is used, and when to upsmoke.

Smokevoter will work for you as your own personal assistant 24/7 so you will never miss toking on your favorite cannabis authors! When Smokevoter, upsmokes for you, the upsmoke is actually done from your Smoke.io account so appears exactly as if you manually voted on a post yourself.

It's a perfect way to make sure you never miss voting on authors you enjoy supporting. And of course, by making it possible to upsmoke even when you're getting super baked!! Smokevoter helps to increase your curation rewards as well, what better way to gain more damn smoke!

In addition, Smokevoter provides a robust smoke-ecosystem of guilds for you to join. A Smokeguild is a group of people who collectively focus their voting efforts to curate a specific, targeted selection of content. When a SmokeGuild upsmokes on a dank post, all the members of the SmokeGuild will upsmoke on it as well.

In this way, local canna-communities can combine their smoke power to smokeup only the content they are interested in. Taken together, Smokevoter SmokeGuilds and personal voting rules (or Streams, as we call them) for your Smoke account provide a great degree of flexibility in automating your Smoking curation efforts.

As convenient as an auto/guild voter is, it does take away from the hands-on curation feature I really like about this platform. Great to see more dev happening on Smoke, but I hope this doesn't take away from post being read and awesome content being missed.

Personally, I'm enjoying the days of pure curation while they last - very refreshing. I also agree that automation takes away from hands-on curation (even the perception that my post has been auto-voted makes me wonder if the voter has also read it - mostly not the case on Steem atm).

Automation I think is inevitable - especially factoring in growth ! I think the question is how to steer the abiding culture towards engagement rather than rewards (rewards a 'consequence', not a 'driver' of engagement)? - but this is also a function of why people sign up; what they see other people doing; the tools available with which to game the system (or play straight). Until the abundance mindset rolls in and people see that there is enough to go around; that originality is fun and rewarding; that rewarding others is a way of paying it forward which ultimately brings in much more than just a short-term boost - until then, greed and FOMO will be factors to some extent. There may well be less read by each reader, but there will also be many more readers. It's not the tool itself, it's how it is used by individuals. Given that nothing can be enforced, the best option I think (esp. at this early stage) is to set a good example.

Agreed, people will have to decide what they want Smoke.io to become. Just another free-for-all, do what I want, money grab like Steemit.... or a solid platform that truly supports the cannabis culture, users, and content with honest interactions, honest rewards, discussions, and an open exchange of ideas.

So far, I have been impressed with how solid the community on Smoke has been. The participation in efforts to support each other and promote the platform has been incredible. Hopefully the inevitable creation of services like this don't turn mindset of the users.

In hands of a killer, just a spoon can become deadliest weapon. Tools are there to be used, but it's again just a choice and reflection of personality per each individual.

·

Yep, Steemit has set the horrible example with auto-curation services, bidbots, delegation markets, vote rings, spam content and a dozen other ways to take advantage of the system to make money with zero effort or interaction with the platform's community. Unfortunately, this is the mindset that carries over from one to the other like a virus and it's hard to re-educate people on the subject.

·

I hope to see that this platform chooses to remain bot-less. Auto-voters has had more impact than realizing. One of them is shifting the focus from rewarding others to "how do I get the most curation rewards", which is in my opinion, not necessary a bad thing as it will increase the value of engagement made by users who do not use the bot.

It is true that a platform without robots would be great but you also have to think that if the platform is in blockchain and is decentralized at some point it will be early or late since all people can use the blockchain of this, it is also true creating projects within the chain increases the value within it. On the other hand, this is just the main idea as the project progresses changes can be made since more than one project the smok network is a community and it should have a word about the applications that are created on it.

If you need an artistic help then am in....am not perfect in coding yet , I will be good in that in a short while but time waits for nobody.. Good job.

I'm so excited for this! I hope you get the man for the job.

Are we going to join with our posting key?

·

Exactly so that the site can send votes is necessary the posting key and the account name, these are encrypted as security requirement in any way the posting key are configured depending on the owner key so if you change this you also change the key of posting

·

There is no join, I believe you directly login on blockchain similar to current smoke.io UI, just handled by probably smaller js in the backend. Haven't checked source yet, just e.g. for better understanding :)

Awesome was waiting for something like this!

I don't care for these Auto Vote Services it takes away from manual curation and then people start getting lazy and posting crap because they know they have people following them on auto vote and they're going to get an upsmoke whether they're posting good quality or not. I think Auto voting encourages crap posting. Not saying this to offend but I really wish programmers would focus on other useful tools like creating a smokeworld that shows you followers unfollows and mentions along with a ton of other stats.

This is really something else haha. Hey @chronocrypto! I'm on Smoke.io now haha love this!
