I am thrilled to see this here. It may have been here for a while since I don't post daily due to the limited content that I can provide but still cool!

Next Step?

Making people aware of plagiarism is enormous and well needed on all content creation platforms. What can we do next? Keep the warm and welcoming community, give people of like minds a place to feel safe and a part of a tribe.

The book "Tribes" by Seth Godin is what I mean. Let's build a place that makes the users feel like they belong here. Don't worry about the price of SMOKE or how big this site gets. Worry about the users and everything will fall into place at a comfortable speed to allow this site to scale with minimal issues.

This is a great quote that I was mentioned within on the Discord chat:

betgames: ... in my experience it’s always a tough and rough start for a good community/hard working people to get any high visibility recognition. But like @J. R. Swab [@jrswab] mentioned the other day, building slowly is better than building hype.

As @betgames said, it's always tough to build the right tribe because that takes time, energy, and resources. It's our job to show up and create for this site. As far as I'm aware it is the first niche blogging site built on a blockchain; that's super unique and puts SMOKE in a great position!

For those of you blogging here, keep building the tribe and making this place pleasant for all newcomers. If you like to create things with code, like me, then do what you do best. The important thing is that we all show up to do our part as often as we are able.

It is always better to build slowly than to try to build hype. Patience is key.

Well said! I remember my husband @betgames was mentioning about you the other day when he was little high and emotional, he was speaking his heart out as everyone do when they are stoned, lol. And also you are doing a wonderful job as well. One of the reason we( @betgames) are a witness on smoke.io is you and your quality content that taught us some basics about how to start up. Then we learned about it as we had prior experience on some coding knowledge. But that initial push is always needed and you are doing good at giving that motivation via your posts and discord support.

Keep it up! And have a wonderful night!

That just made my day! I am so happy that my content helps and I will continue to do what I can to help people become witnesses.

Exactly. You want to grow but at a sustainable rate, and with natural, organic people.

An incredible speech that I've been referencing for years is the Lowtax speech about building communities. Lowtax runs somethingawful.com which costs users $10 to sign up, the most successful paid forum in internet history.

It's an hour and a half, but it has some good tidbits about community building and fuck ray-tracing.

Thanks! I have been looking for more content on this subject now that I moved my personal blog back to my domain. jrswab.com

I think this blockchain has a lot of potential, even with it being a niche based site. Of course, the struggle for some of us bloggers here is that smoke is narrow focused, and some of us don't have a lot of on-topic material to post about. I'm still trying to figure that one out.

some of us don't have a lot of on-topic material to post about.

That is me as well but that's ok! The niche is what makes it unique against whaleshares and Golos.

I believe this also, patience is key. I see us going mainstream in the near future, it only takes time. Thanks for sharing your thoughts

Yes! Time is all it takes.

Also I have done my bit by voting you for witness to motivate you back, even if it’s just a little.

Thank you so much!
