Hi all dudes, dudettes, smokies & spliff queens!
We have all been there, now its too fricking hot, now it's too cold and finally when you set it up to ideal temperature, outside #temperature changes and you're babes are in trouble suffering from heat and/or cold.
-your fan is plugged straight into the SMS, there is no need for any extra wiring
Well not anymore, because this #FanSpeedController will do everything for you, without you even knowing a thing about it (not only speed controller that does this).
Sms smart fan speed controller - so what is it and how does it work?
Simply plugs into the power socket and your exhaust fan is plugged into the controller. After that plug in the temperature sensor and keep the tip of the sensor hanging around the height of your plants. Some setup time is needed the SMS smart fan controller is software regulated (all automatic) where the controller will test the fan from its minimum setting to its maximum setting before settling down to the idle speed set on dials; ideally speed controller will be in your tent - that would make it work more efficiently (he is measuring the airflow and based on that calculates the size of your tent) - but power and water just don't mix in my garden and works fine like this.
-the SMS smart fan controller is software regulated; temperature sensor plug&play
How to tune it?
Left dial is minimum fan speed control - here we are setting the minimum exhaust values (best to set up when the lights are off). Throughout the growing stages of the plants, I regulate the speed differently (with small babies reducing the airflow and maximizing moisture) while in flowering pushing it higher and higher (until the humidity is below 60% with the lights off - eliminate the risk of mold).
-controller will adjust the speed of your fan smoothly and fluidly - keeps you room within +/- 1 degree of your set temperature
The dial on the right indicates the maximum temperature that we want in our garden. If the temperature is below this setting, the fan will work at minimum speed to maintain it; if the measured temperature is higher fan will blast full on until temperature is as on the right dial. In a few minutes fan learns how fast he needs to run to keep the ideal temperature. Smart gadget.
-10 to 35 Celsius/50 to 95 Fahrenheit (manual setting above 35 is to cut off the temp sensor)
They are somewhere between 50-100$; so not too expensive considering how much freedom and performance they give.
This is one of the gadgets that I do not know how would I grow without them, truly is making my life much easier and making it a lot sweeter for my babes. What do you think; is it worth it? Do you have different solutions? What kind of fan speed controller do you use?
Stay well high!
