The Hobbit was first published in 1937, by J.R.R. Tolkien and is being rewritten by @WRITER43 exclusively for the community as a work of fiction. The book contains 19 chapters, and following the introductory chapter, the rest of the chapters will be paired in a series for a total of 10 posts. All characters, incidents, places, and names are products of actual community members, J.R.R. Tolkien, and @WRITER43's baked imagination. Any similarities to locales and events are entirely fictitious and for purposes only.

This book is dedicated to @HerbnCrypto's family.

Inside Information

@HerbnCrypto insists that @Bundo hobbit-ups and enter the Great Mountain alone because he has the Ring. He slides the Ring on his finger and enters the tunnel. @Bundo can feel the heat of @Vaped the Dragon on his face as he also hears the Dragon snoring. In a moment of great hobbit-bravery, he enters into the lair where he sees the Dragon sleeping on a pile of unimaginable treasure full of gems, vessels, weapons, and shiny gold.

@Bundo fills a cup and returns to the dwarves who are anxiously waiting for him.

@HerbnCrypto, "Did you find the treasure?"

@Bundo, "Yes, I did, here's a cup to prove it!"

@Vaped awakes and discovers that a cup of treasure has been stolen. Feeling violated, he burst through the mountaintop and sits on top of it. In fear of their lives, @Bundo and the dwarves run inside of the mountain; however, they must haul @Alibi and @FutureThinker up by a rope before they proceed. @Vaped scans the wastelands with his piecing eagle-eyes for the thief with no avail and returns to his lair to sleep.

The dwarves look at @Bundo for leadership, and he decides that he made the first trip undetected, so he hobbits-up once again and goes back to see if he can find a weak spot in the mighty Dragon. Little does @Bundo realize that @Vaped can't see him, but he can smell him.

Meanwhile, the dwarves talk about their lost treasure and intent to reclaim it. @Bundo returns to the group and informs them about some inside information that @Vaped does, in fact, have a weak spot located on his left breast.

Not at Home

The lair is dark and the dwarves feel trapped, not knowing exactly where @Vaped is? @Bundo decides to go back down the tunnel as the dwarves watch him disappear. Once he's back in the lair, he finds and pockets the Arkenstone, rationalizing his decision to keep it for himself.

Once the Arkenstone is safely hidden, he yells for help. The dwarves come running to his rescue, and when they see the immense mounds of treasure, they start to pick up elite weapons, outfitting themselves with the golden armor and filling their pockets with gold and gems.

In a desperate attempt to believe that @Vaped the Dragon is not at home, they decide to leave the mountain, smoke some @cannabis and regroup. @Bundo and the dwarves follow the river toward the light to the Front Gates overlooking the lands of @ZPZN. Terrified of being discovered by @Vaped the Dragon, they find shelter in a cave near the mountain and settle in for a long night.

@Relaylogix, "Do you think the Dragon will upsmoke our asses if he finds us?"

@RealKiki85, "I definitely think that @Vaped will not only upsmoke us but resmoke our charcoaled and burnt asses as well if he finds us!"
