I know, I know - crypto markets are down blah blah...

The quality of your posts as well as the frequency matters and if you want to be here as an earner long term, you might want to think a little about what content you provide.

Smoke has held up pretty well considering the market and it seems to be attracting an increasing amount of crap. Unoriginal, useless, unfunny... crap.

This is a niche content delivery community that rewards users for delivering value adding material (especially smoke centric), so if you are unable to provide something that adds value, don't post. Instead, find some content that is value-adding and engage with it - perhaps learn something too.

Note: Price information when the volume is 100 dollars for the last 24 hours is not very valuable.

The goal is to make this the go to place for smoke related content and a community that is filled with some level of intelligence.

"Duuude, I'm so wasted...."

Meh. Not wasted enough to come up with something interesting.

Personally, I have been enjoying the grow content that steps through processes and give tips. I also like the smoke stories that paint a picture of personal experiences. I think there is plenty of value to be found, be creative.

This community is a fresh start for many and it could also be the first step into crypto content platforms for some. The culture development that takes place now is going to be vital for when the bull lowers its head and charges the bear our of the ring. Taking some time and care to develop the space will give the future a much stronger chance of success, while letting standards slide early could kill a budding community before it really starts.

There is an increasing number of content rewarding platforms coming into the space, so if you aren't interested in developing the #Smoke #community for the #future, head somewhere you do care something about.

Note: Those posting useless junk multiple times a day should combine it all into one post and perhaps it will make it valuable enough to deserve a vote.

I am pretty sure many people can do better than they are offering. Perhaps they think everyone voting is too stoned to care, but it would be a pity to lose what could be a fantastic community and resource to people who think short term only.

Make Smoke a land of the wasted, not a wasteland.

Spot on! I was thinking about to start flagging posts that I don't think contribute to a healthy community. One way to support great quality content is to vote for it, but another one is to flag shit content that just earns a tiny portion of Smoke.

A rolled up newspaper on the nose ;)

I agree with what you are saying mate, if you don't have anything half decent to say don't say it. I am struggling to come up with some good quality content myself, I don't grow it and I don't know a lot about cannabis. I spend most of my time on here commenting and learning from the people how do know what they are talking about and have something intelligent to say. I think everyone should just ignore the nothing posts and don't even read them, if they don't earn anything they will be just wasting their time and will eventually go away. Bong on bro. :-)

I also think that those who ask the questions and learn are likely to earn more from comments than they do posting nonsense. Plus, it will build a better foundation for content later.

Exactly my fears why i haven't started blogging, cos have seen crappy posts about getting wasted and i can't help but hold on to see if maybe science and tech, or homesteading posts will suffice here.

If you’re homesteading cannabis, by all means... post about it. :D

Thanks for the feedback @unnamed and @raz

You missed the point :)

If it adds value to the community and is of interest, it is okay. Get out and about and see what else is decent out there and find a place of your own to develop.

Great one. I thought name of post is the name of painting. Turns out...
Great reflection and I can agree on all of what you are saying.

People have some sort of necessity to post and are obligated the post no matter what. Instead they could just comment and curate, that way they would earn more than by shitty posts they make.

Plus, they will learn a great deal and develop their own ideas on things that are community orientated.

So many times, when I surfed or commented I got some ideas for posts.

I agree fully with you as there are a lot that they start to milk the system !

Even cash cows don't last if they aren't treated well.

Just so that I understand the context of this post, are you saying that you would rather not see any offtopic posts on smoke?
Or is it just that you would like to see better quality posts in all of the categories?

·

I believe @raz is saying that anything that adds value in our eyes has a place inside the smoke blockchain. Sometimes people spam short posts many times a day as well as comments. If they added them all into one big post he would have upvoted it as it was enough effort involved. Value can be added in many ways, promotion, investment, even simple as commenting useful things or encouragement.

·

Better quality posts in general. I don't mind offtopic as there is a lot of stuff that adds value to the community which doesn't fit into a weed-related category.

Very nicely said. Lately whenever I come on to smoke and go to the followings I see a lot of non cannabis related stuff. Not really interesting. That's why I mostly browse the trending, popular tags or visit directly members, whos posts I like to get my fix, the quality way.

I agree with all what you say... I was into growing and stopped because we are travelling... but I am preparing to do it again when I´m back in my homebase. I have lots to post on cannabis, but I have time constraints. When I am not posting, I read posts of users to learn more, what are the ups and downs of growing as well as producing edibles... Atm, I curate and upsmoke the post I like as well as resmoke them so I can grab at the post I want to reread on my page.

I am here in Spain where cannabis is produced in large scale, so I have no reason to post anything other than weed. In fact, I bought the seeds I want to grow back home.... so let´s wait and see whether I will be succesful in growing and contribute something to the community.

Cheers!

Great post @raz. I started feeling the same way hence why I stopped posting for a bit. I felt like I was really not putting it all in the post and plus there were so many reviews I couldn't remember what had been reviewed by others. I have never been a great writer but I am good a story telling if that makes any sense. So for now I just sit back in the shadows until I find something great to share with the community. I will continue to support smoke and use my voting power on quality post.

I want to share the pictures that I write myself. I want to share my personal experience with you, how to paint oil paintings, here on the smoke. I hope it does not look like shit! haha
in any case, I agree with you! By the way, thank you, glad that you like my trip))
