Today's Weed News For March 14th 2019 #TIMWALZ

For today's week news we go to the great state of Minnesota.

Minnesota's republican-controlled Senate Judiciary Committee just rejected a bill that aimed to legalize recreational cannabis in the state.

But, according to Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, the committee rejected the legalization proposal without ever actually looking into or discussing the bill.

"What we got is a kind of Kabuki dance yesterday with a couple cherry-picked witnesses and a declaration today that the Cannabis issue is dead... A few dozen senators who weren't up for re-election last year determined that we aren't going to talk about it anymore," said Governor Walz in an interview with the Pioneer Press this week.

But instead of calling it a day, the governor is now seriously considering creating a so-called "Governor's Task Force" to look into the issue of recreational weed legalization some more.

"We haven't left this. We kind of feel like there's a whole bunch of folks out there who think this would make sense," Walz continued.

But as long as the Senate is controlled by Republicans who have no intention of entertaining the idea of weed legalization, it looks like the governor maybe fighting an uphill battle to say the least.

Naturally, I support Governor Tim Walz and all of his efforts. I feel like Minnesota's infrastructure, healthcare and budget could all benefit greatly if the state legalized weed.

Big shoutouts to Governor Tim Walz for fighting for his constituents' freedom to use this very beneficial plant. It's going to be interesting to see how long it takes before the state sees any real changes in its cannabis policies.

But one thing's for sure, the fact that politicians in the state are introducing bills and talking about legalization is definitely a very good start already.

And that's what's up in Minnesota!

Why would people who aren't up for reelection be able to kill legalization like that?

At least the governor seems to be on the right side...

I guess since they're not up for re-election they don't care if weed is a popular issue or not. But I think they're still currently at for their positions so they still have power to vote stuff down.
