Today's Weed News For January 11th 2019 #HR420

For today's weed news we go to the United States Congress.

You may have heard that Democrats recently took over Congress in the United States. And many of them have been loudly proclaiming their support for cannabis law reform.

Well, just a few days after taking control of Congress, a Democratic Congressman named Earl Blumenauer has already introduced a brand new bill to legalize cannabis!

The bill is called HR 420 and wants to remove cannabis from the controlled substances list all together and let States decide for themselves how they want to regulate cannabis in their jurisdictions.

"While the bill number may be a bit tongue-in-cheek, the issue is very serious. Our federal marijuana laws are outdated, out-of-touch and have negatively impacted countless lives... Congress cannot continue to be out of touch with the movement that a growing majority of Americans support. It's time to end this senseless prohibition," said Blumenauer

Holy shit, dude took the words right out of my mouth!

HR 420 would essentially take the DEA's authority over cannabis away and instead, weed would be regulated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. But if the bill does pass, the Bureau will be renamed and become the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Marijuana, Firearms and Explosives.

The bill also calls for the creation of a new bureau within the Department of Treasury that would be responsible for overseeing issues related to money and cannabis.

Many people seem to be amused by the name of the bill, but I feel like there is a lot more going on here than that. The way representative Blumenauer talks about the current cannabis situation and the laws in America is spot-on in my opinion. And if that's the kind of rhetoric that senators and Congress men and women are being exposed to by their colleagues, I really am starting to think that weed is not going to be a schedule 1 drug much longer.

In my opinion, this bill has a pretty good chance of getting through Congress. Let's just hope that the president doesn't veto it if it does.

And that's what's up are U.S. Congress!

The bills eliminate criminal penalties for an individual who imports, exports, manufactures, distributes, or possesses with intent to distribute marijuana an most likely willf get through congress.

Thanks for update.
Wish you a great weekend.

No you are only been controlled according to your states law

Well done, I love your blog. Thanks for keeping me posted on the news
resmoked for support

The name of the bill HR 420 as called from your article is strange and funny but the good thing there is that the consumers will always be controlled by the law within each state and each state will have a boundary condition different from other states .
Hope the law they make will favour us all.

smoke to the moon!!!!

I agree with you, senator Earl Blumenauer is expressing what most american thinks and its time to move it for legalization.
The bill's name (HR 420) is quite amusing indeed.
About president TRUMP, he is a bit of a wild card because i really don't know his position about marijuana.

Good news. The future is green.

That's good news man...hopefully the bill will be signed

Thanks for the update bro. The more they talk about cannabis in the media and politics the harder it will get to keep this charade going. Bong on bro. :-)

It is getting better.
Great news
