Mallrats (1995) Info

  • The film, directed by Kevin Smith, is a sparkling comedy with and for young people. Located in a mall, the film follows a few strands of story with lovers, enemies and friends.

  • Brodie and T.S., two high school friends who are obsessed with comics, are left by their girlfriends the same day. To complain of mercy and to waste time, the two go to the mall. Here I meet Jay and Silent Bob (played by director Smith), popular characters from "Clerks," with whom they make an original plan to regain their friends.

Stonedest Line

"What you need is a fatty-boom-batty #Blunt, and I guarantee you'll be seeing a sailboat, an ocean, and maybe even some of those big-titted mermaids doing some of that lesbian shit."

Trailer & Stoner Conclusion

  • Mallrats combines hip hop music with explicit humor and sex scenes. The film abounds in symbols of pop culture, from video games and movies such as "Star Wars" and "Batman" to the comic strip.

  • The film is timeless. After 24 years the film hits. The characters square measure wonderful, its exhausting to not love them. It is really extremely funny. The basic idea is simple, two dumped guys try to win their girl-friends back, and their brilliant strategy is to hang around in the local shopping mall. What makes the movie work is the wonderful mix of slap stick humor, intelligent puns and gross sexual innuendos.

  • My favorite scene in Mallrats has to be the introduction of Trish the Dish to Quint. The story of her book, Borgasm, is crazy enough, but the entire time Brodie is obsessing with a kid sitting on the escalator. The interaction between the three characters demonstrates Kevin Smith’s ability to write dialogue effectively.

In High Art ( THCinema or Stoner Movies), there are a lot of movies that in some way proved game-changing through cultural impact, and I believe all of them worth watching, the reason why I came up with this series, to let every stoner, see how far viewpoints on Cannabis have changed since 1932 !

I would love to hear your thoughts on it.

Sure I will do in near future.

Definitely one of my favorite movies. Jay and silent Bob are epic. But especially bluntman and chronic!
