Finally got my laptop back!!
To me more correct, it's not that i got it back, it's just that I finally decide to get me a new one.
My older one was barely hanging, it had a few unfortunate accidents in the last few months, so it finally had its last breath…
And as much as I like my old one, getting a new laptop is always an exciting experience..as painful and lenghty as it might be migrating everything ( @indica - migrating to a new phone is a pain in the ass, migrating to a new laptop is hell on earth :) )
Anyhow I am back :) so how is everybody doing? :)
For me, life is crazy as usual, daughters are doing fine, growing up very fast…
The big one is definitely got my crazy gene and is busy experience life to its fullest :)
While the smaller one is still sleeping and breastfeeding, that is currently her only contribution to this world :)
But they both start to get along very well.
The first thing that my older one does when she wakes up is to call the little ones name..and the small one, when crying...stops immediately when the big sister pets her on the head..
Can't wait to see how their relationship will blossom.
Personally I still getting used to the first one, suddenly find myself in an interesting situation of being a father of two...nevertheless, as challenging as it might be, it is a very fulfilling experience…
So weed? Anybody said weed?
I finally got my supply this week…after looting dry the Kief compartment on my grinder.
Gotta appreciate that kief Net when you run out of weed ;)
Although my license is long expired, due to an overload on the government office that issues and extends those licenses they decided to automatically extend all existing licenses till the end of the year…
I always try to get several strains of different ratios of sativa and indica, so i can have appropriate kind for any mood :)
I got some indica for working on the computer and some for my creative work, I have some indica-sativa hybrids for chilling out in the evening, and of course some nice strong indicas for going to sleep.
This time I grabbed a new strain they had, called Red Rhino.
I only grabbed it because of the very strong smell that it was emitting, its was almost intoxicating on its own, without even the need to smoke it.
The sticker says its 80% Indica, with THC content ranging from 11-19 (hmm quite the range) and CBD at 0.5-5.5% (ok, this sticker basicaly has no meaning what so ever).
The buds weren't looking as best as I would hope so, but it is an 80% indica, so i shouldn't expect those bulky, stuffed buds as you would have with a properly grown sativa hybrids.
But this bright green color and that amazing smell that immediately threw me to an amazing 'jungle' I once visited in Brazil. A smell of of sweet flowers, with a tiny wiff of fresh water and fertile soil…
Smells can recall some interesting memories aren't they?
The smoke itself was a bit disappointing, although the aroma was pleasant enough, the buzz itself was a bit light.
None of those kicks you get from the stronger stuff, but I guess not every smoke needs to kick you in the ass, sometimes a 'light buzz' is all you need.
So after finally getting a computer having some free time (nothing is free life) I decided to take some time and utilize a free VPS i had 'lying' around unused…
I was planning for a while now to run a smoke.io witness, but just couldn't get the time to get to it.
But today (or was it yesterday?! ;) ) I had some quiet time at night so I decided to give it a try.
I had some previous experience with running steemit witness and even cloning a copy of steem to a local network, so I was sure that it was not going to be that hard.
But i was mistaken….
It took me about 4 hours of doing things around just to realize that something was wrong, things weren't working...i have probably missed a few crucial steps along the way….
So with a few impulsive clicks I wiped the whole server and decided to give it another try the next day…
Retrospectively, it was a good decision, as I later discovered that I have missed some crucial steps that might have caused my witness not running properly, not to mention that I completely skipped the whole security part.
So today, after setting up a brand new ubuntu, and spending over 3 hours securing it from top to bottom, configuring and re-configuring all those keys and IP's...i have finally had my witness up and running.
To be honest, I didn't think I will be running a witness when signing up to smoke.io about 3 months ago…
But after being part of this awesome platform for several months, I feel like I really want to contribute to it the best way I can.
Be it by writing original content (even if it might be boring for some of you), or curating and commenting on some of the amazing content you guys are posting…or spending some $ to run a witness...i do belive smoke.io worth it!!
I think is one of the most genuine social networks out there...it might be small, but its special. I think we have some really awesome, creative, friendly and caring people here...and most of us are stoners ;)) It a pleasure being a participant and a Witness of something you all are part of.
So Hooray to Smoke.io...i hope a great future awaits you as a blockchain and as a social platform for like minded stoners ;)
If you feel like I can be a good contributor as a witness I will appreciate if you can take the time and vote for me as a witness, and if not, it's too bad as you will be missing on all the dedicated witnessing i will be doing ;)
Seriously though, I think I can contribute as a witness, as I know my way around server security and code, and I like this platform and plan to stay an active part of it both as a blogger and as witness.
I want to thank @herbncrypto for helping me out when i got stuck in the middle of the process, pointing me to some documentation, and for this awesome guide written by @bbq-iguana that helped me up with securing the server and setting up the actual witness...and all the other fellow smokians like @hightimes and @jrswab that written some nice content that helped me along the way.
I have collected bits and pieces from each one of you and finally got it running,so thanks for the effort!
So if you would like to vote for me as a witness, head out to Witnesses Page and share your love.
Thats it for today,
See ya next time.
