Why Marijuana should be legalised (II)

This is a continuation of the last post.
REASONS WHY MARIJUANA SHOULD BE LEGALISED

CONSUMER SAFETY
When Marijuana is legalised, the government will set up laboratories and regulate marijuana use to make sure the herb is free from toxins and other harmful substances. Personally, i will feel a lot more better buying from a licensed store than from a dealer in the street. Yes! Buying from a store would mean less stress in getting herb and less and toxins. Some dealers mix marijuana with other substance to increase colour, taste and 'high' Legalisation will improve the quality of marijuana sold to users and consumers as government will regulate the sale of the plant.

DECREASE GOVERNMENT SPENDING
Everyday individuals are arrested for using or possession of Marijuana. This makes the cost if enforcement taxes extremely high, something that could be avoided. In addition, with so many arrest and incarceration, jails, prisons are filled. Taking care of the prisoners, building new prisons as a result of congestion, court costs etc requires a huge income.
U.S. federal law enforcement agencies in the 2000s have been spending over $4 billion a year arresting almost three quarters of a million people on marijuana charges—usually merely on charges of possession (Schlosser, 2003). The legalisation of marijuana will eliminate such costs and tax payers money used to fund this cost can be diverted into another sector of the nation's economy.

MARIJUANA IS NOT HARMFUL LIKE TOBACCO AND ALCOHOL
Tobacco and alcohol are way too dangerous and harmful than marijuana. Alcohol and prescription drugs are responsible for almost 200,000 death each year yet they are legalised while marijuana is criminalised. An epidemiology study showed that only 9 percent of those who use marijuana end up being clinically dependent on it. 'The comparable rate' for tobacco, alcohol, and cocaine stood at 32 percent, 15 percent and 16 percent respectively.
There is no doubt, cannabis is much safer than alcohol and tobacco while it may not be 100 percent risk free, it is way less addictive than alcohol, less addictive than tobacco. But being less addictive doesn't mean it is not addictive.

PLANT WITH MANY USES/NUTRITIONAL VALUE
Marijuana is a plant with multiple nutritional values. Hemps can be used to produce fabrics, ropes etc. The seeds from hemps are highly nutritious and are rich in Omega 3 calcium and iron. The oil is good for the skin, it can also used to produce body lotions, shampoos, moisturisers and soaps.
Furthermore, hemp seed are great source of arginne and gamma-linolenic acid which have been linked to reduce the risk of heart disease, hemp seeds are rich in healthy fats, and essential fatty acids. The also great source of protein, vitamin E, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, magnesium, sulfur, calcium and Zinc.
