It's honestly bit embarrassing that we aren't crushing the voting already with supposedly 60k active daily users or so. And talking about we I'm referring to STEEM users, and with voting I'm talking about the one in Netcoins listing contest HERE.
However, Steem has narrowed the 2000+ difference to number 1 spot almost fully during the last two days, and the gap's getting closer by time.
I know, I know, shilling a different coin here on another platform. However, consider that I wouldn't have found Smoke Network if it wasn't for Steem – and it is very unlikely I would've found here any other route since I am not a cannabis user myself – even though I support the progress towards more open drug policies. So if our big brother STEEM gets more publicity, I'm sure Smoke.io will benefit from it too, being a fork of Steem blockchain.
Fork = Bad?
'Hardfork' might have a bit of a questionable vibe to it because of all the Bitcoin forks you might or might've not heard, such as Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold, Bitcoin Diamond, God, Superman, Satoshi, The Chosen One, and who knows what else (the few last ones might not be real ones, haven't checked) – at this point there's too many to keep track and the new ones cannot be taken seriously anymore.
All Bitcoin forks happened, because a group of people supported a change made to the protocol, which they thought would make it better (or a good scam attempt); increase in block size for faster transaction and smaller fees were proposed changes that were supposed to improve Bitcoin's function. However, no consensus was reached, because of differing ideological views among the community and developers on what Bitcoin was supposed to be, and thus, some upgraded their nodes, while most didn't, and the first hard fork on Bitcoin blockchain to Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash was born, both claiming to be the "real Bitcoin" and bringing "Satoshi's true vision".
Steem and Smoke Network
While Smoke is a fork of Steem blockchain, it's not the same type like in the case of Bitcoin, because Smoke's point wasn't to make Steem better; being a DPOS (Delegated Proof of Stake) coin, like Steem – which is the fastest and most scalable consensus model among cryptocurrencies at the moment – it didn't set out to compete with Steem at all, that should be quite obvious. It's a targeted community towards a niche, for SMOKErs of the green leaf.
While many of you are Steem users who've come to Smoke, there are also those unique to Smoke, and to those (and why not for Steem users who might've missed the voting by chance) I'm proposing the opportunity to help a big brother out a little. Obviously, you are not obliged to do anything, but every incoming vote is appreciated.
I'm quite confident at this point that it will turn into our favor, but on Netcoins' page there is an announcement that states there being some illegitimate voting, so the number counters might not be correct. Although, I think there is a higher chance of more vote manipulation from PAC Coin's side than from Steem's side, considering the volume of activity on social media such as Twitter (there is an abnormally high amount of followers compared to the amount of likes received). Anyhow, there's no need to cheat, we surely have a bigger community to back it up :)
So, it's really simple, you just go here:
then search STEEM, and vote using your e-mail address. You'll receive a confirmation e-mail where you simply just click the received click open, and your done. Remember to also vote again after 24 hours – after the first vote you don't even have to confirm it again!
So, do my smokers have some fire to lend? ;)
PS. What winning the contest would mean, is
- Getting your coin sold in 171,000 retail locations in over 53 countries across 6 continents
- Press releases and media exposure on financial sites and crypto sites (Nasdaq, Globenewswire, Coinmarketcap, Coincodex etc…)
- Global OTC desk availability
