Shortly after joining I saw an article posted on here correlating legalizing marijuana to reducing the opioid OD deaths.
And then I came across this one shortly after...
I have many immediate responses to this more recent article and anyone who takes the time to read it will see the weak attempt to halt the progression of legalization and alternative approaches to medicine.
What has REALLY happened is that legalization has influenced funding streams. Prescription writing patterns have changed and federal programs such as Medicare have been impacted.
What I CANNOT understand is how this primary motive of maximal financial gain in “the business of saving lives” continues to direct publications and seep into research motives so passively.
This can and will change as we like minded individuals and self healers find our way to each other through platforms such as this.
Lastly, I would like to note this beautifully conclusion...
No fucking shit!
This is because no one will legitimize it while it continues to get federal push back.
I am well established within the behavioral health field in DE and have personally asked agencies to educate themselves about the use of medical marijuana as an alternative to pain management and as a TOOL in the fight against opioid addiction and alcoholism with minimal response & ZERO change.
I respect cannabis and it’s MANY compounds. But big pharma isn’t going to tell me what they are or how to use them.
