It's been a while, forgive my absence from posting. I've been working on IPFS software for blockchain technology like Smoke/Steem. With blockchain technology, it's now becoming really easy for you to host your own files. Adding friends doubles down your content against the phase of internet censorship media like Facebook and Google promotes and enables. Big tech's worst fear is peer to peer content hosted by each individual user because it completely destroys their technological entrenchment built up over the past decade. The reason for that is most peer to peer users are really adamant about using only freedom software and they simply wont use or develop on anything less.

Consider joining up the resistance against censorship by learning about the IPFS network and running your own IPFS bot. I've set aside time for the next month to help users bring their own networks and front end uploaders online.
I would like to share the experience I've gained running a decentralized video network with @techcoderx and continue to strengthen the IPFS backend for DTube on Steem/Smoke. If you are interested in doing so please join our matrix chat or our discord and send me a message saying you are interested, and I can give you the information you need to get started.
Another way to get started is by taking a look at developers who build software to support decentralized applications like DTube. For example @vaultec built DTube Permanente you can find it here https://gitlab.com/vaultec/permanente and powerpoint45 built a nice android application you can find here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.powerpoint45.dtube&hl=en_US
