The reason why these products are specific is that if this is your first grow, these products will give you the best results without making it too complicated. The best place to buy these products is on either Amazon or eBay. ( I left a link for each item above, and I get paid if you use my links )
Since genetics are an important aspect of growing quality cannabis, you want to buy a quality seed from an online seed bank like Canuk Seeds (no affiliate link here, I just like them) or get a female clone from someone you know.
Canuk Seeds Iced Skunk
Once the seedling is about 8 to 12 inches tall, this is when you can start your 8-week vegetation cycle... Until then just take care of her. Make sure she doesnt get too much light (like full direct sun, unless you watering really often, but small seedlings/cuttings don't require much light.. Mainly warmth and water.
Fox Farms Ocean Forest organic potting soil is one of the best soils available. It has all of the organic matter you need for a quality grow and it eliminates using a lot of extra nutrients that other generic potting soils lack. No matter what anyone tells you, do not use any form of Miracle Grow products on your first grow!!! Miracle Grow contains time release nutrients that will cause more problems than letting Amanda Bynes drive your car.
Advanced Nutrients’ Micro, Grow, and Bloom is perfect for beginners. Its PH balanced perfect chemistry is ideal and eliminates the need for a complex feeding schedule. This small bottle will last a lot longer than you think. Cal-Mag is the other nutrient that is vital to have throughout the plant’s life cycle with the exception of the last 2 weeks before harvest because it takes care of deficiencies like yellow or drooping leaves.
Setting up Your Grow Tent
A 2x4x5 grow tent can be bought online for as little as $60) and is perfect for growing one indoor cannabis plant. The 1000W LED grow light can also be bought online) for the same amount. Most lights do not come with adjustable rope hangers, you can get a good set for about $5 bucks and they are highly recommended for adjusting the height of the light as the plant grows.
After you assemble your grow tent, find a good place to zip tie a power strip on one of the aluminum poles. Plug your 24-hour timer into the power strip. Set the timer to 18 hours of light and 6 hours of darkness for 8 weeks.
Use the adjustable rope hangers to secure your LED light from the top support poles. Clip your fan on one of the side poles, set it on low, and plug it into the 24-hour timer. You only need a gentle breeze in order for the plant to think it’s outside because after all, the goal is to duplicate an outdoor environment inside (but without the bugs).
Zip tie your Hygrometer onto one of the poles higher than the fan. A Hygrometer can be bought for under $10, and it’s a big help for knowing the temperature and humidity levels inside your tent.
Perfect conditions would be about 75º to 80º F with about 55% humidity. You can adjust the temperature by using your thermostat for heat or AC system to maintain ideal climate conditions.
Time to Start Growing Your Cannabis Plant
Once your cannabis plant is about 8 to 12 inches tall, transplant it into the 15-gallon plant potter with the entire bag of Ocean Forest organic potting soil. You need a 20 inch drip pan for overflow because the plant will get heavy as hell, and it’s a pain in the ass to keep moving it around. A turkey baster works really good for sucking out excess water once the plant is done draining.
Read the instructions on the right amount of nutrients to use per gallon. The typical amount of each nutrient is 5ml per gallon. A good tip is to feed one day and just water the next. Additionally, a dry day or two here and there is also very good for the plant as tends to make the plant for hungry and vigorous. Another important tip is not to use tap water unless you evaporate the chlorine out of it first. You can do this by filling up empty milk jugs of tap water and leave the cap off for 24 hours.
When you reach the end of the 8 weeks of the vegetation cycle, change your lighting schedule to 12 hours on and 12 hours off to start the flowering cycle. Continue with the suggested feeding schedule until the middle of week 6, this is when you want to back off on the nutrients, and start the flushing cycle by using straight water or for a few bucks, you can buy a product like Flawless Finish that helps rid the soil of salt and other unwanted nutrients you don’t want at this point.
Another good tip is 3 days of darkness before you harvest your plant with no water. You want to starve the plant to get the highest concentration of THC possible. The best thing about growing your own weed is getting a quality product that saves you money and has the ability to reproduce itself by cloning it.

Once you master the art of your first cannabis grow, you can isolate another area or buy a second set up, so you always have one in veg and one in flower and a mother, cause who likes running out of cannabis?
If you follow the above techniques, you will have positive results and a supply of high-quality weed that is just as good, if not better than some dispensary cannabis.
