TrippyContest4: You moved me // 600 + 620 Smoke in Prizes

Welcome to the announcement of the fourth @cannaweedness #trippycontest. For this month’s contest, we are collaborating with @coffeebuds, the top 20 witness, who has provided the prompt and will be stepping in for some guest judging. If you aren't voting for witnesses yet, get on that and learn who is who.

Intro: You moved me

For this contest we are going to get reflective, introspective - detective. No, not Narcs. For the fourth installment we want to know, what event has changed the trajectory of your life.

We are getting personal.

How personal?

Sit down - Let me tell you a story.

Once upon a time there was a teenager who after a young life of athletic achievement, fell chronically ill. Within a matter of months he went from running laps to being unable to walk a short flight of stairs and, the prognosis was not looking good. The specialist didn't give him much chance of recovery and life was going to be a life altering surgery that would leave him with a lifelong disability.

He said no.

Instead he chose to live with the condition as best he could and read all he could on what he could. Every alternate treatment with near zero success while his body withered away under the duress of illness and depression started to take root. By nature he was not a depressive person but under constant pain and discomfort and watching life travel by while he had no ticket - he had all the time to think and no time to do. It consumed him, it gnawed at his mind while awake and haunted his dreams in his fitful sleep. It owned him.

One night a friend offered him a little press pill with a tiny little star printed onto one face. His nerves were pulled tight, he had no idea what to expect, no idea where it would lead and to what ends it would have -but he figured - how much more damage can it do, how much more pain could it cause?

He said yes.

Nothing. the lights of the night club whirled overhead while his group of friends drank and partied on and, watched him from the corner of their eyes. They were nervous too.

He watched the lights and then felt the all the muscles in his body simultaneously, every joint, every tightness and every pain - and it slowly dulled, relaxed, disappeared entirely. And then the start of the song began. The throb of the bass beat, the distortion of the speakers, the vibration of the floor coursed through his body as his jaw tightened, as the music flooded his body and time no longer moved in a straight line. Acutely aware of the slightest movement, completely unaware of the world at large - he danced until the sun rose.

He said no more.

The next day on zero sleep yet feeling rested, he reflected on what had transpired and the most important realization arose - the illness that owned his very thoughts - had not been thought of at all, and he had been symptom free for the first time in 6 years - if only for 12 hours. It was this realization that set off a chain reaction of events that would shift the path of his life and take him around the world because if a small pill of chemicals can do that, he can find a way to replicate the effects without it.

Sometimes, the brain needs to be rebooted to reintroduce possibility where only hopelessness and despair had lived for so long. He lives with the illness still but instead of it chaining him to its experience, he owns it and his own freedom.

From the drop of the pill, the drop off the bass beat and the drop of thought itself - that night was a turning point that discovered life where none was considered to live.

He lived on.

I am not sure about this one. I do not have big turning points in life. There might be some smaller, but not that much. Trying to keep it consistent.

I think a lot of the things that effect our lives are small events that for some reason, have an impact on us and influence some kind of change. Think about it at least and see if something comes to mind - Have a smoke first of course ;)

I always have something in mind...as soon as I saw it...I might do some free writing..like let them just flow, thoughts...now you tingling my imagination...

I stopped writing on smoke and was thinking that I have nothing to share about cannabis. perhaps I am going to write and participate in the contest. :)

·

I am sure you have something here Aziz, you have done so much. What has led you to do what you do with the kids now?

·
·

There are a few more reasons but one thing that make me more responsible to do it is my childhood experience in a slum school. I will make a post with more details. Thanks for your support.

Sounds interesting. I might take part in it if I catch the time to write the post. Lately my life has been sending way to many things to do.

·

Give it a go and see what arrives :)

·
·

I think I got an idea what I could write. I got what 4 days left?

·

join meeeeeeee, @zuculuz!

·
·

I'll try my best. ✌️

What a topic, Wow!

The teenager's story was certainly moving 🙏

and it has to be a story, right? Because this perfectly fits a video idea I just had …

·

you're a painkiller, @raz! I am glad you healed thanks to neuroplasticity. My favorite word of the years 2016/2017/2018/2019. May the healing never stop! Everybody, now!

·

Oh, missed this. No it doesn't have to be a story but at least "equivalent to 500 words of effort" which is not very scientific but, you get the idea :)
