Metal Leafs / LordofTruth puts the Rock in TrippyContest3

We live in a country far away from all points of view.
We live in a country where Medicinal Marijuana is legal in Romania,
but you go to prison if you use it.
We live in a country when we ask the Government to free the weed,
there’s no clear law about the seed.
We live in a country where Street dealers are always ready to hurt us,
the Government does not try to protect us.
We live in a country where smokers spend 15 years in prison,
do you think a pinch of bud is strong enough reason?

We live in a country where, if you have a leather jacket, you are seen as a strange one, and if you have the audacity to have a long hair at school, you have an extraordinary chance to leave at the end of the year with a very low grade. Why? Because, normally, #Rock is the music of the devils. Rock is laughing. Rock is a subspecies of music. Finally, if you listen to rock you have headaches and urgently need medical checkup!

That’s how Romanians think about this kind of #Music !

If in another country you go out on the street with extraordinary long hair, dyed, tattooed, with boots standing and earrings in all possible places, NO, but NO ONE absolutely would not look strange to you and would not comment on anything . Do you realize how the world would react if, for example, “Mike Portnoy” would walk through the middle of a Romanian city?

We all wear gray, poor, sad colors and if someone comes with other clothes, has another mentality or other musical preferences, that person is automatically excluded and seen as a strange thing. Normally, they look at 180 degrees, genre gossip “look at it, what it looks like!” and the elders crossing their right while on the left handbag of the market. What can you expect from the people in a country that dares nothing?

We condemn people only by the way they look. Have you ever thought, man, that “jerky rocker with hair to the bottom” can be a person 100 times smarter than you, a person whose universe does not stop at small beer, three-ton hoops to the throat and cars “BE EM VE” where you walk all sorts of fetiscane arranged?

Did you consider that “that nasty slice” has the ability to express himself much better than you and can have a richer vocabulary than the two words you know? Probably not, because your narrow mind does not accept such notions.

We still have a mentality worthy of the Middle Ages. Until we change our attitudes towards rock, I say, young people, you go out of the country as you get the chance and get rid of the animal planes worthy of your surroundings.

I like the weed and rock music and reggae (Bob Marley) , the reason why all my friends say I need a medical checkup !

The moment when the volume of the music comes from your headphones,
but do not let your heart slow down.
You must know.
You are the song.
You’re part of it.
It gets you everywhere.
Live the moment.
It’s extraordinary.

There is plenty of good music that I love to listen when I smoke Weed

Reggae / Bob Marley

Yes, what music is more beautiful than reggae? When you do not understand much and you get caught up in Bob Marley’s guitar cords, his warm voice and his words of peace? Bob sings very rarely about the weed, he plays about peace. Many do not know yet. They think his songs only about the weed. Well, they do not know English. I listen to his songs for his wonderful words about peace, peace of mind and equality between people. I have some favorites like ( Rat Race), (Woke up in a carfew), (Hope u like jammin with me), (That’s why I’m staying with the Spliff). (Sometimes shifting coke) and others . And because smoking on live music does not compare to anything, here’s a ( Tributo Bob Marley 1999) Anyway, we know all the albums out of the box. However, when you say Bob Marley in the music you will say a kind of Cheech and Chong in the movies.

Rock / Sweet Leaf, Black Sabbath

As rocker there’s one band I like above all others: Black Sabbath. they’re not really love song rockers. Not glam rockers either. But they wrote one “love song”, a love song to weed. “Sweet Leaf” was one of the first metal songs about cannabis and still one of the few love songs Black Sabbath ever wrote.

Rock / Smoke on the Water, Deep Purple

Possibly one of the most recognizable riffs in rock, Smoke on the Water is a song telling about a fire during a Frank Zappa gig in Montreux. Deep Purple was in Montreux to record a new record but when you’re in Montreux, you go to live music, especially if Zappa is riffing. It was a big hit for Deep Purple and the tune is still recognizable today and played by many rock guitarists.

Rock/ Diamonds and Rust, Joan Baez

This song selection is different from the others because it is an acoustic track. normally I would write about the Judas Priest version I listen to more often, but credits where credits due. Let’s select the original song instead: Diamonds and Rust by Joan Baez.

The song is also about love, but love to a man not green, sweet leafs. Joan Baez wrote “Diamonds and Rust” about a lover who had just called her on the phone: Bob Dylan.

But because I love rock here is the Judas Priest version too. Because rock is not bad and deserves more appreciation, especially in my country. It’s when acoustic blues is made… metal.

That’s some classics right there. Music to the 🦇 ‘s ears. 🤘

·

Thanks for coming up with this contest / I love the way how cannaweedness support the original contents and the new users / Keep it up.

Stereotypes are disgusting.

We have a rocker here. Interesting how people that start with rock as young tend to stick to it through life. Yes, there is diversity in taste but you can always see that line of love for riffs and drums.

Thanks for the entry.

·

Earliest music I can recall is Queen’s Radio Gaga. It wasn’t just the beat in it, it was Brian May.

Ever since most bands I’ve loved always had solid guitarists. Riffs and bass are for life. Drums for pace. I will crank up the volume for the bassline in Dazed and Confuzed.

Watching and hearing Gail Ann Dorsey is like sex.

Guitar love is eternal. 🤘

Me, personally from what I remember first were nationalist songs as we were in war. After that came domestic rock as Yugoslavia was pretty closed during that time.

·
·
·

I visited Split / Yugoslavia 31 years ago ( 1988 ). It was so wonderful city and I remember that I did drink for the first time in my life a black beer inside a Rock-Club / I spent so nice time for more than 3-4 days in this splendid city.

·
·
·
·

Oh, Split is nice. Now a bit expensive.

·
·
·
·
·

Was so cheap then / Was one of the most wonderful cities that I visited all my life / I will visit it again in future just to drink again this great black beer.

·
·
·
·
·
·

Now with all the craft beer culture on the rise I bet there are some awesome ones.

·
·
·
·
·
·
·

I will try the next year to visit Split as this year I already planned with my wife to go to Greece.

·
·
·

It is wonderful country , I love it and I love their craft beer culture, I was there 31 years ago before the war.

·
·
·

Yugoslavia is a country I know nothing about. Vaguely remember the national football team. Later I worked with Croats in Germany (great bartenders) but that’s pretty much it.

·
·
·
·

I would say, only successful Communist country, to some extend. By successes I mean the amount of prosperity in ratio to people imprisoned.

·

I wrote about THCinema / The Green Prophet / AEA and more, I start to get bored, it is the perfect time for Metal Leafs !

What I like most about this contest ( and music), is the fact how everyone of us found confidence and themselves in some songs. What would life be without a soundtrack? Thanks for this contest, @cannaweedness! Thanks for your contribution, @lordoftruth

This is an interesting collection of music. One question. Isn't Judas Priest a heavy metal bend?

·

Yes / heavy metal bend

Great intro to this post and I like your poem :)

Diamonds and Rust is such a beautiful song....it has resonated with me across the span of many heartbreaks. The Judas Priest version was interesting and great to listen to!

Fantastic entry, you're the winner!

·

Thanks / It is not important who is the winner / I am happy as I wrote what I feel ( from my real life), and this is the reason why I joined the contest.

WOW, I'm too drunk to read everything, man!!!
But seriously, you're up there with @jackdub and
@rawpride for the Highest Quality Standards
on this Great platform of ours, if I dare so myself!

Thats what every country thinks of rock music. Especially back then. It was just emerging through this beatle elvis sexy phase into the hippy music, acid rock next etc, . Lol. But my point is they dont still veiw it that way, do they? I like Judas Priest. My favourite song is Turbo Lover. Great song. Great story RICKER FROM ROMANIA!!!
