From my perspective, there's a war going on between the Cannabis Purists and the Corporations jumping on the bandwagon looking to capitalize off Legalization. Not only in the realm of Big Pharma, but also when it comes to the F&B Titans, such as the one who has been recently in the news - Coca-Cola. Feel what you like about all these developments, but I think they're here to stay and the "good ole" days of the underground budroad are coming to and end in North America.
According to CNN, Coca-Cola is looking at making a move into the expanding market for drinks infused with Cannabis. This is not a surprise to me at all considering the origins of Coca-Cola (if you don't know, look it up!).
Coke's interest was first reported by Bloomberg, which said the company was in talks with Aurora Cannabis, a Canadian cannabis company. Aurora has also expressed interest in cannabis drinks. Neither would comment on a possible deal. - source
Don't count me in as someone who would support this kind of product, since I don't drink Coke or most other soft drinks. But I find it interesting because we can see the direction this is heading and with interest from Big F&B I imagine the powers that be will make sure to expedite the legalities very soon.
Not mention, now Walmart wants to "do" Cannabis. I wonder who they will be getting it from?
I love edibles and I'm sure I'd also love sippin on something THC/CBD infused, but I always prefer localized products from small businesses where I know and trust the process and I'm supporting people who truly need the support!
