Why isn't weed legal? scientific reasons why cannabis is safer than alcohol

It still amazes me why alcohol is legal while weed is not.
Alcohol is legal of course but yet causes a lot of health problems which (include death.)

And cannabis which can used for medical and recreational purposes

still widely restricted and stigmatized despite too many evidence to show that it is actually an amazing and good thing. Especially when used properly.

Cannabis will definitely win alcohol hands down when it comes to the aspect of overall safety and harm.
Cannabis has proven over time that it helps in killing cancer cells and reducing aggression.

I will be stating below some of the scientific reasons why cannabis is far safer than alcohol.

alcohol causes brain damage

Research on cannabis has increased over time, but still, none atm has proven that cannabis can cause any brain damage.
However, alcohol has been proven by research that it impairs the process of neurogenesis.

an ability for the brain to develop new cells at adulthood.
Alcohol's interference with neurogenesis can cause lack/shortage reproduction of these cells which is crucial to the adult brain.

This is a plus for cannabis because research has proven that cannabis can enhance neurogenesis which helps in preserving the brains health. Alcohol harms the brain while recent researchers has it that cannabis which is also a well-known antioxidant helps the brain and protects it.

alcohol causes fatty liver disease

Alcohol causes a lot of damage to the liver, though mainly when consumed excessively. But this is not the same when it comes to weed, it might interest you to know that marijuana has recorded a lot of success when it comes to reducing liver diseases/failure and for sure this is an add for marijuana which keeps me asking why it is not generally legal yet.

alcohol increases your risk of developing cancer

Alcohol abuse can cause too many cancer diseases ranging from colon, mouth and breast cancers. Many mouth cancers are as a result of excess intake of alcohol.
Cannabis, in contrast, has some compounds that can kill tumor cells which can reduce cancer. In other words too many researches has proven that cannabis has some anti cancer compounds.

though there are researches linking pot-smoking to some of the causes of lungs cancer, these researches have produced only but failed results.

alcohol kills

According to the united states center of disease control

Excessive alcohol use led to approximately 88,000 deaths and 2.5 million years of potential life lost (YPLL) each year in the United States from 2006 – 2010.

And this has made alcohol one of the third causes of preventable death in the U.S.
Intake of Marijuana, on the other hand, has not been linked conclusively to the cause of any death.

Alcohol can cause nutrient deficiencies

Heavy intake of alcohol can interfere with the ability to absorb nutrients causing a lot of damage to the small intestine, this is not so in cannabis. however, even a chronic marijuana user can not suffer deficiencies so to speak.

alcohol promotes violence

I can't fell to mention this, habitual intake of alcohol causes disinhibition which affects the way one reason, it fosters violence and increases aggression. While cannabis reduces it and enhances peaceful and funny behavior.

why is marijuana still illegal?

Cannabis is less addictive, reduces aggression and influences body weight positively plus other amazing potentials attached to it. so why the fuck it not legal yet?
