Cannabis Infused Gummy Candy: Success... Or Epic Fail

Cannabis Gummy Candy Recipe

  • 1/2 ounces cannabis tincture (three teaspoons)
  • 2 green tea bags
  • 3-tablespoons creamed organic honey
  • 1/2 cup coconut water (remove the coconut chunks)
  • 3/4 cup juice (I used cranberry grape)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons agar agar or unflavored gelatin
  • 1/8 teaspoon Pink Himalayan Salt

Cream the honey while you place the coconut water on stove to boil, then steep the two green tea bags for about 10 minutes. Add the juice, salt and creamed honey, stirring until WELL blended. Add gelatin VERY slowly to prevent clumping. WHISK well. Remove from heat and once the temperature is at 120-degrees, whisk in cannabis tincture.

Pour into prepared molds.
Refrigerate anywhere from 1-3 hours; depending on how big the molds are. DO NOT freeze- this causes the gelatin to get funky.
Store in airtight container in the refrigerator.

While the coconut water and tea bags were steeping, I measured out all the other ingredients to be prepared.

Creaming the honey only took about a minute. I just used a hand mixer.

This recipe is spot on for taste, flavor and the strength of the edible, but the molds and removing the candy (Jell-O) from the molds was a huge catastrophe for me. So much so, that I hate to even post a a picture here. When I have perfected the removal, I will post the pictures.

While the potency of the gummy candy was extreme (I ate one of the puzzle pieces around 2PM and the effect lasted well into the late evening hours; so about five hours), I will have to come up with a better plan of removing the candies from the molds. I have investigated more this morning and think I may have found the problem. One... I need to chill the silicone molds before adding the hot candy, and second, I need to spray lightly with some cooking spray. I will be attempting the third batch this weekend. Stay tuned for the results.

Full disclosure- the little molds didn't work very well. Too difficult to get the jelled gummies out of. So those I will not use again. I do have other larger molds (the blue ones) that I use for other homemade goodies, so I figured I'd give them a try with the second batch of gummy candy mixture. They were much easier to work with, but still had issues removing the gummy candy. I need to find new method. I ended up making some traditional chocolate chip cookies for hubby to take to work for the guys today.

Here is the recipe I took from and tweaked a little to make my own.

Awesome thanks for that, It's a good thing you can't OD on cannabis because once I start eating gummy bears I can't stop. Lol bong on. :-)

·

Sadly some are still spreading the misinformation you can OD on cannabis. When I said the term is wrong and why they want to argue. I am not gonna argue. But I think I am gonna have to go on one of my rant posts about misinformation, propaganda and lies.

Seems to be like that for a lot of things these days, there is disinformation spread around about just about everything. It's becoming a full time job just deciphering the crap from the truth. bong on. :-)

I made hash/weed gummies one time, using proper gelatin and stuff, I cheated and just poured it all into a big glass tray for it to set in & I just cut the big jelly slab into little bricks.

Totally fucked up by thinking "Oh I'll add sugar so it's like the sour sugary gummies" and it made the gummies start to melt.. I had to throw them in the freezer.. I ended up eating the frozen gummie weed candies over a week haha!

·

As long as it does a good job it doesn't matter what it look like, Lol. Bong on bro. :-)

I would freeze it just to see how does funkey looks. 😂
And I wouldn't call it a failure.

·

It gets this white coating then when yo take it out and almost looks like purple slime- lol

Not complete failure cause still edible and VERY potent. I just wished the forms would have help better. Third try is the charm, right? That's on my agenda for Sunday

Great thing is that you learn something from it and noticed where you made wrong moves.

Exactly! Plus I can still eat the pieces- same effect!!

:-) because it was so nice a little upvote for you. Good smoke

Just make one gigantic one and take little bites off of it throughout the day. That would be more badass. :)

lol- yeah!!! I could do that for a holiday gathering!

·

:-) a little upvote for you. beautiful evening

This issa huge success fam.
Gummy savor😙

Add more unflavored gelatine I would have used a whole box for that recipe. I used 1 pack of unflavor gelatine with jello for my recent ones and they were firm enough to get out of the bowl but they are not as firm as I want and they are a little watery even though the recipe called for less water than the jello recipe. So I am about to try again but add another package of unflavored gelatine. I read that adding for gelatine is the fix. I am about to see....

Your bakeware form is so funny!
I want the same))

I liked them too! The Lego blocks and puzzle pieces were different. I didn't want hearts and flowers so I went off the norm.

Thanks for sharing. I book marked this as you say we can use agar agar and that is all vegan.

Wonder if I can use beown rice syrup or maple instead of honey

·

I would imagine you could substitute brown rice syrup. Not sure though.I have never used it

rosegarden from the darkweb used to make the best gummies

Trial and error! Thanks for sharing the process, I was thinking I would love to make some cbd gummies in the future but really had no idea how gummies are made.

Best of luck with your third attempt, hopefully you get the hang of removing the gummies from the mold and they are both aesthetically pleasing and potent!

a good way to recover the jello without destruction is to freeze them overnight and then pop em out.

I love gummy candies! They are so good!
