What ever happened to the Smoke.io Youtube Channel ?

in #art
last month

I see it has over 6,000 Subscribers now so it could be monetized.... is it monetized ?

It could be making a few $1000 every month to help boost the price of Smoke.

@Stoner should also create a Hideout.TV Channel and post Smoke.io videos there.

People get paid with Crypto for watching videos on Hideout so the Videos quickly get millions of views. The Creator earns .20 US$ for every 1,000 views...

I uploaded a few of my Travel videos to HideoutTV and earn $ 300 USD a month now.

It could be making a few $1000 every month to help boost the price of Smoke.

And what videos do you want to post, keeping in mind that the account represents the network/.io website?

Just ramble about anything and see it get 50 views/vid? Or product placement vids making smoke look like a team which milks the popularity of the community and wants to maximize on everything?

How to grow your own weed. Views from the garden. Favourite places to smoke. You know.... creative stuff like that.

But then the centralized platform, Smoke’s roll out entity, competes directly in content with our members.

Additionally, rather than using a centralized social media platform as broadcast channel for larger reach and user acqui... the central roll out entity — our founders — promote that a (cannabis) deplatforming social media platform is the place to make money.

Doesn’t that somehow dilute the value of founding the decentralized social media platform, with rewards mechanic, for cannabis users?

As a stakeholder I would immediately dump because I would lose my trust in the leading platform. Good thing they would buy my dump back, then. ;)

I thought we could use Youtube and Hideout.TV like you are using Twitter except make a little $$$ to help pay for servers.... I guess I am wrong.

We tweet to highlight content on smoke.

That's more difficult in video format tho. I mean you can easily make videos scrolling through nugporn but they won't get many views. Or clicks to smoke.

The "Smoke" Twitter account is very neutral in that aspect, just uses its reach to showcase the platform and every day get few new sign-ups. The smoke Twitter account, also mine, could easily grow faster but then has to go more political (and louder) and that may be less representative of the community then.

If Smoke holdings starts creating the content we want our members to earn from, with as goal to earn from that content, and earn on a centralized social platform, one which deplatforms, then they risk loss of credibility. You basically tell everyone that:

  1. As "leader" its OK to grab the reach and monetize that (hijacking community following)
  2. You should monetize on centralized social media not on smoke (own goal)

Ads exist on Smoke.io too. They can be used to pay servers and buy SMOKE back if profit. Smoke.io even has sponsor opportunities, which are genuine token utility.

Yeah. Video tours of small micro gardens, lighting set up, canna-cooking shows etc. would be great.

YouTube deplatforms cannabis people. It would be great if they explode and leave this world.

I really doubt it'd make $1k/month on that many subs though

Yeah. We need to get them to 1 Million Subscribers.

Soon....
